A school community approach to cyber safety.

A message from the Principal

Our goal is to protect every student from online harm while still allowing them to take advantage of the incredible possibilities the Internet has opened up.

That’s why we’ve partnered with Family Zone, New Zealand’s leading provider of cyber safety and digital-awareness tools and services.

Family Zone helps keep kids safe online when they access the Internet through the school's network.

They can also keep your kids safe when accessing the internet through unsafe networks, such as mobile phone networks and your home WiFi, using their unique Mobile Zone software.

We need your participation.

The School will work with Family Zone to create a private Family Zone account for every family. You will receive an email with instructions to activate your account. Once your account is set up, watch the videos and follow the instructions on this website to install and activate Mobile Zone on your children’s devices, and customise the settings for your family. Your children will then be safe when accessing the internet, on any device and any network.

We highly recommend installing Mobile Zone on your child's mobile phone, as well as their BYOD device (if they bring one to school).

How does Family Zone Insights work? 

Family Zone Insights is a FREE pack available to all families at the school providing them with powerful insights to view internet usage on devices with Mobile Zone activated. This includes snapshots of usage and detailed reports, along with visibility into installed apps and (where activated by parents) device location. 

What does this mean for students? 

We want to create cyber-safe school communities where students thrive, but we also recognise that implementing Family Zone can be a daunting time for some students. That's why we have created this video to explain what it means in practical terms for students at Family Zone schools.
