A school community approach to cyber safety.

A message from the Principal

Our goal is to protect every student from online harm while still allowing them to take advantage of the incredible possibilities the internet has opened up.  That’s why we’ve partnered with Family Zone, New Zealand’s leading provider of cyber safety and digital-awareness tools and services.

Family Zone helps keep kids safe online when they access the internet through the school's network. They can also keep your kids safe when accessing the internet through unsafe networks, such as mobile phone networks and your home WiFi, using their unique Mobile Zone software.

We need your participation to keep our students safe on every device, everywhere.

The school will create a private Family Zone Premium account for every family.  You will receive an email from Family Zone with instructions to activate your account but if you would like to get started today please use the Sign Up button on this page to create a Family Zone Premium account FREE for 12 months.

Family Zone Premium
Family Zone Premium allows families to filter the internet (eg block adult content) and apply routines (eg study and sleep times) to devices with Mobile Zone activated.

For help installing Mobile Zone on your child's device please view our resources section 'How to install Mobile Zone'.  For tips on how to cusomise routines and filtering for your family visit our YouTube channel.  Our support team are also available to help you get started, just use the 'Book A Call' button under Help

Once your account is set up and you have Mobile Zone on your child's device the school can manage internet access regardless of network connection, during school hours.  Outside of school hours, management automatically switches to your parent account and your settings apply.

Please read the Costs and Policies detail linked below which explains how we are distributing family accounts to our community and our expectations for technology being brought to school.

Cyber Safety: It's as easy as 1-2-3.

2

What does this mean for students?

We want to create cyber-safe school communities where students thrive, but we also recognise that implementing Family Zone can be a daunting time for some students. That's why we have created this video to explain what it means in practical terms for students at Family Zone schools.
