There is a growing body of research suggesting habitual use of connected devices may have a negative and lasting impact on users’ ability to think, remember, focus and regulate emotion. Excessive smartphone use is usually dominated by entertainment, not learning - and therefore has a detrimental effect on achievement. Further, research suggests the mere presence of a connected device has a similar impact to its use.
